The impact of climate change and the ongoing environmental degradation of the planet has highlighted the urgent need for sustainability across all industries and sectors, including meetings and business events.
But while sustainability is the word on everyone’s lips, to what extent are meeting planners incorporating sustainable practices into their work? How is sustainability affecting planners’ policies, practices, supplier choices and business relationships?
This exclusive First Look Research report, conducted by Northstar Meetings Group – UK and sponsored by Copenhagen Convention Bureau, examines how meeting and event planners address sustainability today, and the changes they anticipate in the next few years.
Some highlights:
- *46 per cent say lack of funds holding them back
- *Less than half of planners measure their sustainability efforts
- *Six in 10 planners say virtual will play a part
The findings are based on responses from meeting planners representing the corporate, association, agency, government and professional conference organiser market segments between January 16th and February 24th, 2023.
