BestCities Global Alliance and the International Congress and
Convention Association (ICCA) have
opened submissions for this year’s Incredible Impact Programme.
The programme will see one association receive a US$20,000 Incredible
Impacts Grant for their winning legacy programme, while another association
will kick-start their legacy programme with a US$5,000 Incredible
Impacts Seed Fund Grant.
The aim behind the programme is to reward associations that generate meaningful legacy
for the host destination, meeting delegates, the association or the field they
represent.
In previous years, the allocated prize money was distributed
between three winners, each receiving US$7,500. This year, there is one major pot of cash up for grabs.
ICCA CEO, Senthil Gopinath said, “We want to celebrate the best of
the best and raise the stakes to ‘winner takes all’ scenario because the
stories our associations are telling – and the legacies their initiatives are
leaving – thoroughly warrant a solo moment in the spotlight. By bringing
Congress attendees into the final judging process raises the impact, value,
kudos, and ‘wow’ factor to the Incredible Impacts win.”
Associations looking to bag the big prize will need to showcase their legacy initiative by 4 September
2023, and those pursuing the seed fund grant will need to get submit their entry
by 22 September.
Grant winners will be announced at the 62nd ICCA Congress
in Bangkok in November and for the first time in the programme’s history, congress
attendees will be able to vote on the winner, with the final score evenly
weighted between jury and audience.
