With its excellent client co-operation and interaction, the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC) continues to secure high profile medical and other sector events

Held in August, the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) is the biggest international library gathering and is organised by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). Bringing together over 3,500 participants from more than 120 countries, WILC provides a unique opportunity to get a global perspective on the growth, education, innovation and social cohesion in the library field.

Following the opening of a new national library building in Athens, and having been designated as 2018 World Book Capital, Athens was the ideal choice for this event.

MAICC, a landmark in the centre of a unique capital city and on a direct metro line to the international airport, was the obvious choice for the congress. Incorporating stunning aesthetics and cutting edge technology, MAICC offers 143,000 sqm of multi-level, flexible spaces. Surrounding the centre are beautiful landscaped gardens.

With MAICC’s 18 meeting spaces ranging in capacity from 30 to 2,000 delegates, sweeping, modern, light-filled exhibition spaces, a circular 2-tiered banqueting hall, the centre competes alongside the world’s finest conference centres and can host up to 6,000 delegates.

European Society of Cardiology

Megaron Athens International Conference Centre has had the honour of hosting a number of prestigious European Society of Cardiology Conferences since 2012.

Heart Failure 2019: from alpha to omega saw more than 5,800 healthcare professionals from 100 countries converge on Athens in May to discuss strategies for a universal approach towards prevention and the treatment of heart failure.

The European Society of Cardiololgy (ESC) is one of the most highly-respected, global associations to have put their trust in Megaron and Athens with a variety of major international conferences over the past seven years and with discussions in progress for future congresses.

The Heart Failure Manager 2019 said.  “The ESC has chosen to work with Megaron due to its convenient location in the city centre of Athens, within walking distance from major hotels and public transportation. We also appreciate the building itself with natural light and gorgeous lecture rooms.”

Clare Amsel, Executive Consultant Conferences and a member of the Board of Directors of ICCA, said: “We are delighted that Megaron is in such demand.”
