Event tech provider Cvent has acquired mobile event app firm DoubleDutch.
The meetings, events, and hospitality technology firm has announced that it has acquired the San Francisco-based mobile event app provider for an undisclosed sum.
Cvent believes that the acquisition of DoubleDutch highlights its investment in the mobile technology space and will complement and grow the company’s signature mobile event app and onsite solution capabilities.

Mobile event apps are increasingly an integral part of the attendee experience, facilitating and capturing engagement, which can lead to higher event return on investment (ROI) and attendee satisfaction. By acquiring DoubleDutch, Cvent is aiming to expand its commitment to the onsite experience.

In May, Cvent announced plans to “drastically expand” its European footprint by hiring nearly 1,000 employees this year.
The announcement was made at IMEX Frankfurt, where Aggarwal told M&IT that the leveraging of technology in the meetings industry is behind the expansion.
