Deep Dive S1: Being a volunteer is not about your CV Jeffers Miruka

"Being a board member is not about your CV. It's about your legacy. When you see strong associations you realise there were people who were absolutely committed to helping them grow, and those are the people associations remember."

Jeffers Miruka, President of the African Society of Association Executives, wants 100 per cent commitment from his board members as he explains why a thriving association sector is so crucial to the continent of Africa, and why, despite progress under the COVAX scheme, the pace and scale of the vaccine rollout in Africa is a source of concern.

Jeffers also explains how the meetings industry has been a springboard for his career in association management.
