Edinburgh has retained its position as the number one city in the UK for hotel investment.
According to the Colliers International UK Hotels Market Index, 2019, the Scottish capital saw off increasing competition from other regional centres, including Glasgow, to retain its crown.
City leaders say investment from international brands is reinforcing the city’s appeal as a leading destination for conferences, including international association meetings, and incentives.
YOTEL Edinburgh’s arrival as the brand’s first city centre hotel in Europe follows InterContinental Hotel Group’s takeover of the Principal Edinburgh George Street, while Edinburgh’s historic India Buildings on Victoria Street have been earmarked for the first Virgin Hotel outside the USA.

Edinburgh’s reputation for innovation in technology specifically, was recognised by YOTEL, who’ve mirrored this by unveiling a number of tech firsts, including Imaginex - a state-of-the-art, 360-degree projection space providing a unique opportunity for film screenings, social events, and meetings.
