Kuala Lumpur to host international associations’ round table

Malaysia is set to host the UIA Associations Round Table Asia Pacific for the first time.

UIA 2018 will showcase Malaysia to 120 international delegates from 15 countries, making it a valuable opportunity for local associations to gain exposure and connect to international decision makers and experts.

Organised by the Union of International Associations (UIA), the conference focuses on cross-industry development to ensure collective growth for associations.

Datuk Zulkefli Hj. Sharif, CEO of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), which is hosting the event, said: “When we started in 2009, we found that local associations are great at what they do and they have a lot of potential to go even further in championing not just a cause but an industry. That is the bar we wanted to raise, consolidate expertise for both their cause and impacting the country in other ways.

“We injected the business events point of view into our association counterparts by realising their maximum potentials. UIA 2018 will be another boost to our efforts as it is applicable to associations from all industries.”
