James Lancaster

James Lancaster is Editor of AMI magazine, the leading title for association executives, secretaries general and organisers of international not-for-profit meetings. An award-winning journalist, he worked for various national and regional publications in the UK, focusing chiefly on news, business and public affairs, before joining AMI in November 2010. He is a seasoned commentator on association and meetings industry issues and a frequent panellist at association forums and trade shows.

Tracy Bury, Deputy CEO, World Physiotherapy

Tracy Bury is Deputy Chief Executive at World Physiotherapy and has over 25 years’ experience in the professional association sector. Her responsibilities include the international congress, education, policy and advocacy and communities of practice. She is a firm believer in the power of congresses and professional communities to deliver change and the responsibility that comes with that to make a lasting difference.

Tracy qualified as a physiotherapist in the UK and after working clinically moved into research and policy. Her research and professional interests include evidence based practice, health policy, global health and professional issues. She has presented and published both nationally and internationally, as well as serving as a journal editor and contributing to research committees, awards panels and advisory boards.

Tracy is currently President (2020-2022) of the Associations & Conference Forum, which has 39 member organisations, all international or European professional associations advancing association leadership and congress management.

 

Ori Lahav, President, IAPCO, and VP Clients & Operations, Kenes Group

Ori Lahav joined Kenes Group in 2013 as VP Marketing, bringing more than 15 years of marketing experience to the management team. Ori’s expertise includes implementing marketing strategies, ATL/BTL, and leading digital campaigns in online/social media channels. He began his career in the communications industry, where he held marketing positions at Internet, voice, and mobile telecom providers. This was followed by a senior role in the automotive sector with a start-up that raised US$ 900M to manufacture electric cars. After 4 years at Kenes Group, Ori moved to manage the Client Accounts & Operations unit. At the beginning of 2017, Ori also became an IAPCO Council Member (IAPCO – the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers) and in 2020 he was announced President of the association. Lahav was recognised by event professionals in the Eventex Top 100 Most Influential People in the industry for two consecutive years. Ori holds a BA in Statistics from the University of Haifa and an MBA from the University of Derby, UK.

 

Marta Gomes, Sales Director, Palais des Congres de Paris, ViParis.

Associations have always been a major part of my professional life. I have worked nearly twenty years
in the meetings industry, and have worked with professors, association executives and destination
partners to attract international congresses to Paris, which was once again in the 2019 the most
popular city in the world for association meetings. In charge of sales and business development for
Viparis, we host nearly 1,000 events a year in 10 venues in the Paris region. I am also a citizen of Europe,
grew up in Portugal, studied in the UK and now live in France. I represent the European region on the
ICCA Board, where I currently serve as 1st Vice President, after leading the France‐Benelux chapter for
several years beforehand.
