Mobile congress appoints Giant iTab to give applications a boost

GSMA, the trade association behind Barcelona-based Mobile World Congress, has tasked Giant iTab with getting more visitors to use event apps at this year’s show.

More than 100,000 people are expected at the largest mobile event in the world, which will showcase technology from 2,400 companies at the Fira Gran Via, 25-28th February.

App adoption at events like this is significantly less than 50 per cent.

Giant iTab will provide giant smartphones across the event to drive mobile app engagement and help visitors find the information they need to get the most from their day.

Visitors will be able to use the app directly on the Giant iTabs which will be positioned around the show, or else download and view the app instantly on their own devices by touching their IOS or Android mobile to the NFC ‘Tap for the App’ point on the Giant iTab.

Giant iTab’s Founder CEO, Mark Jones, said: “We are incredibly proud to be working with the organisers of Mobile World Congress to help further improve the visitor experience at such a well-respected event. We have worked closely with the team to ensure our event technology meets the brief and we are confident attendees will really benefit from the feature-rich event app being available throughout the show on our Giant iTabs.”
