It’s hybrid – but allergy association itching for personal contact
The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) has announced that its 2022 Congress in July at the O2 universum in Prague will be a hybrid event.
But organisers are hoping for as many people as possible to travel to the Czech capital.
Prof Petr Panzner, local ambassador and chair of the 2022 congress, said: “The hybrid format brings many new advantages and progressive functionalities. It allows participants to attend and network from all around the globe, but we would also like to express our wish to have as many participants as possible with us personally in Prague, to enjoy both the social contact with friends and colleagues and the unique scientific and cultural atmosphere that the magical Prague has to offer.”
More than 200 presentations and workshops will take place during the congress whose theme is ‘Common origins of allergy and chronic inflammatory diseases – the One Health approach’.
The EAACI has 13,000 members in 124 countries and its annual flagship event is attended by 8,000 health care professionals, scientists, and though leaders from all over the world.
The organisation held its first Hybrid Congress in Krakow, Poland, in 2021 having run a successful online event in London a year earlier. The Prague Convention Bureau, in cooperation with the Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology won the bidding process after a three-year campaign.
The congress is taking place from 1-3 July.
