MCI opens new Florence office, extends Italy foothold

MCI Group, the professional congress organiser (PCO) and association management company, has increased its foothold in Italy after opening a new office in Florence.

The company – which already has an office in Rome through its destination marketing company Ovation Global – said the office will focus on delivering national and regional congresses from.

Luigi Cammi and Maria Cristina Schiavone, industry veterans who together have 33 years of experience in the associations market, have been appointed to run the office.

Michael Libotte, managing director, MCI Italy, said: “The opening of a PCO office in Florence is viewed as a natural fit as we recognise Luigi’s and Maria Cristina’s commitment and experience in this demanding market. Geneva-based MCI now has 62 offices in 31 countries and 10 international partnerships.
