Messe Wien: Austria’s most proficient and versatile venue

Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center opened in 2004 and offers 73,000 sqm of ultra-modern infrastructure. It is Austria’s most proficient venue for staging large events and the broadest range of shows – from corporate events and mega-size congresses to galas and trade fairs. Perfect service provision is guaranteed by partnerships with professional businesses.

In the immediate vicinity of the venue are Prater park, several hotels, restaurants and car parks, as well as two underground train stations. The international airport can be reached in 30 minutes and the city centre in five minutes.

Unique versatility & central location

The venue offers unrivalled flexibility, full accessibility and can be tailored to the exact requirements of its clients – and almost any type of event. A total of 55,000 sqm is available within four exhibition halls – two of them equipped with flexible partition walls – and there is a 9,000 sqm pillarless multi-functional hall.

In addition, the Congress Center offers 7,000 sqm of flexible meeting space. Mobile walls can be moved and combined in numerous constellations to create different room sizes. Depending on the scale of the event, the Congress Center can be used in combination with the halls via the Mall – a glazed passage connecting all areas.

Three separate entrances allow several events to be held in parallel with ease. Clever site layout ensures orientation is simplified with the majority of the available space on a single level. The venue is well equipped to serve large numbers of visitors with one of the most powerful IT infrastructures in Europe.

Green & healthy

Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center has already earned multiple certificates and awards for its environmental credentials, sustainability having always been a central principle. ‘Green’ values were integrated at the planning stage and have been consistently developed within the framework of all service packages – such as waste separation, energy efficiency, charging stations and catering.

Messe Wien has also just become the first venue in Austria accredited a ‘Healthy Venue’, according to the stipulations of the World Obesity Federation. It is one of just five healthy venues in the world. This underlines the venue’s pursuit of healthy living and wellbeing, thus meeting one of the key UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Green pioneer

“Of course, as Austria’s most proficient venue we also wish to maintain our pioneering role in the staging of healthy and ecologically sustainable events. Close proximity to Vienna’s verdant Prater park also helped to inspire us to become a ‘Healthy Venue’. Now, we are looking forward with our partners and customers to providing healthy catering, and to encouraging fair and congress participants to take more exercise. This is our contribution to the fight against the causes of poor health and nutrition in the event industry,” explains Martina Candillo, Director Congresses & Events at Messe Wien.
