Speaker line-up revealed for UK’s first ‘maskless’ business event

The Good Business Festival has announced the speaker line-up for its launch event ‘Change Business for Good’.

The event will be the first live, in-person business event without Covid measures to happen in the UK since the first national lockdown in March 2020.

The ‘Change Business for Good’ event is a Government pilot event, backed by a science-led Event & Research Programme (ERP). The event will ensure delegates are tested for Covid-19 before and after the event in order to trial events without Covid-measures, such as social distancing and mask-wearing.

This pilot event will kick off the main Good Business Festival event scheduled at ACC Liverpool in July 2021.

Organisers have released the event programme which includes multiple panel discussions on getting back to business.

Jeremy Schwartz, chair of Kantar Sustainability Practice & former CEO of The Body Shop is speaking on the ‘Better Business? Better hope so’ panel, examining whether better business is here to stay or whether the demands to return to some kind of normality will overtake the ambitions for things to be better after covid.  Other panellists include Simone Roche MBE – Founder of Northern Power Women.

Sharmadean Reid, entrepreneur and founder of WAH Nails and Beautystack will appear alongside Paul Mason, award-winning journalist and author.

A second panel will discuss if the speed of progressive change we are seeing across business is happening fast enough, or if everything is taking too long to be meaningful. This panel will include Felicia Odamtten, founder of The Black Economists Network and Tony Reeves, chief executive of Liverpool City Council.

The event will close with ‘futurist’ and author Mark Stevenson, giving the audience an insight into what the world might look like in the coming years after Covid.

The event – running from 2:30pm to 7:30pm – will end with a ‘Live at the Apollo’ style show featuring comedians Mick Ferry, Rachel Fairburn and Kiri Pritchard-Mclean.

Wayne Hemingway MBE, creative director at The Good Business Festival, said: “We’ve tried to squeeze all the ingredients of the festival into one afternoon. Great speakers. Thought-provoking debate. A chance to meet new people, be challenged, be inspired.

“A chance to spend time with friends and make new ones for the first time in over a year.  And at the end of the day, a chance to have a really good laugh.  Because its 2021 and we need one.”

Holly Patrick will be attending the Change Business for Good event as a member of the press. You can follow the event on our social media channels: TwitterLinkedinFacebookInstagram and ask her any questions via the handles or drop her an email at
