I want less tech at our congress
At the moment I am a lone voice on our board, because I want to reduce the amount of tech at our annual congress, where everyone else want to increase it. I want people to engage with the content and, more importantly, each other and not be looking at their screens all day. I don’t want voting apps, I don’t want digital way-finding, I don’t want satellite link-ups – if panelists can’t make it, choose someone else! The best meetings I have been to have been pretty low-fi. It has been the content and the speakers that made it – not the tech. How can I persuade the board to my way of thinking?
